WhistleBlower is a free Windows app from Noise Productions. It runs the games while you do everything else — loud, loud sirens at exactly the right moment, a clean clock for the venue display, and a phone-as-remote so you don’t have to camp by the laptop.
Features
Auto schedules for whole tournaments
Pre-build a schedule of games — e.g. three rounds of Junior Netball — and WhistleBlower runs them back to back, automatically chaining quarter sirens, half-time and end-of-game.
Loud, distinct sirens
Ships with a set of broadcast-grade siren sounds tuned to cut through gym noise. Adjustable volume, plus a one-click TEST SIREN button so you can prove the speakers work before tip-off.
Phone as a remote control
Scan a QR code on the venue Wi-Fi and any phone becomes a remote. Pause, resume, skip ahead or fire a manual siren from courtside — no app install, no logins.
Big-screen display mode
Plug in a TV or projector and WhistleBlower puts a clean, controls-free clock on the second monitor — perfect for courtside displays. Players and spectators get the count, you keep the controls.
Auto and Manual modes
Auto mode runs the schedule on the clock. Manual mode lets you advance phases by hand for friendlies, training or anything that doesn’t fit the script. Switch between them with one tick-box.
Configurable game presets
Quarters, halves, custom phases, warm-up time, half-time length — build presets once and pick them from a dropdown. Netball, basketball, hockey, school sports days, indoor cricket: if it has a clock, WhistleBlower will run it.
START NEXT NOW & live edits
Running ahead of schedule? Hit START NEXT NOW to skip the wait. Running late? Double-click any future game in the schedule strip to push its start time. The rest of the day re-flows automatically.
Crash recovery and sleep prevention
If the laptop reboots mid-tournament, WhistleBlower picks up where it left off. It also keeps the screen awake during a schedule so Windows won’t go to sleep on you between games.
Always-visible status
Phase title, current time, “Up next: Half Time”, and a running count of sirens fired today — so the clock-runner always knows where the day is at, with one glance.
Free and Windows-native
Built for Windows 10 / 11 with WPF. No subscriptions, no accounts, no “cloud” — just a single .exe that runs on the laptop you’ve already got at the door.
